  17.        OPERATIONAL ORDERS:

  19.           1) You will locate and destroy all shipping attempting to enter
  20.              the Skagerrak Sea and reach Oslo base.
  21.  
  22.           2) You are to destroy the bases at Oslo and Stavanger in Norway,
  23.              as well as the base at Kinloss, UK.

  25.           3) You are to attack and destroy all other enemy contacts
  26.              encountered.

  29.        INTELLIGENCE BRIEFING:
  30.  
  31.            Although NATO has always had a strong influence in Europe, they
  32.            have underestimated Soviet strength in order to justify reduced
  33.            military spending. The convoy is a desperate attempt to hold on
  34.            to Northeastern Europe and the GIUK. Intelligence information
  35.            coming in at this time indicates that NATO enjoys superior air
  36.            cover - by virtue of their bases in the area - but lacks good
  37.            surface support. What little surface shipping they have been
  38.            able to organize appears to have joined up with the rest of the
  39.            convoy making the trip to Oslo. Thus, you can expect to meet
  40.            strong air resistance and a single but well protected group of
  41.            ships. The convoy is known to be made up of at least 14 ships -
  42.            one of which is an aircraft carrier. Since the exact location
  43.            of the convoy is not known, you will have to find them using
  44.            surface radar from shipping, reports from your air cover, and
  45.            by sending out reconnaissance aircraft from Bodo. After
  46.            neutralizing ASW activity from Oslo and Stavanger, you should
  47.            consider using your submarines to set up a blockade at the
  48.            entrance to the Skagerrak Sea as a second line of attack.

  53.           1) Destroy Carrier Convoy Group ADC or delay its arrival at
  54.              least 36 hours.
